Some of the translations in gnome-desktop use the ratio symbol which isn't convertible to non-UTF-8 locale encodings. Failure to parse date strings containing the character could result in gnome-shell not starting up properly. This update replaces the ratio symbol with a plain colon when a non-UTF-8 locale is in use.
